Back eons ago our ancestors were cavemen with a diet that consisted of nutrition they could only attain from their surroundings in nature. In the modern day, people have developed a similar diet, which is based on our cave-dwelling ancestors. The following tips should help you with succeeding in the Paleo diet.
1. Eat Organ Meat
Though it might not be the most delicious meal, organ meat is high in vitamins and minerals. Our ancestors had no qualms about eating organic meat. You should make this a normal part of eating habits when consuming meat. It’s a sin to let something so nutritious go to waste. So give liver or even chicken hearts a try to balance out your meat-eating diet.
2. Move Like A Caveman
As with any diet, exercise will be needed to balance your efforts to lose weight. Due to the advancements in technology, a lot of us find ourselves stuck in office 9-to-5 behind the desk. As you know our ancestors were actively looking for their next meal to survive. Try to get up from your desk every 30 to 45 minutes and move around or go for a short walk. Even apps can show you how to do yoga or other exercises while you sit in your office chair.
3. Keep It Simple
Research has shown that eating simpler foods will lead to eating less, and greater weight loss with even less work. You can keep it simple by eating proteins like fish and meat, root vegetables, whole foods carbohydrates, non-starchy vegetables, and fruits. Some tasty Paleo diet recipes have extra ingredients that are not necessary for a good Paleo meal and will be a hindrance to losing weight. So the basic principle is to keep it basic like a caveman.
4. Eat The Little Fish
Sometimes people overlook the smaller fish varieties out there to their detriment. You can add anchovies, mackerel, sardines, and other small fish to your Paleo diet at a relatively smaller cost than other fish such as salmon. These fish are an important part of the diet and will give you a big boost in heart-healthy omega-3 oils.
5. Buy a Crockpot
You can cook delicious meals by taking them slowly. The food will come out more tender and delicious than you can believe. Another added benefit is the energy efficiency of the slow cookers compared to electric ovens. You can also prepare the meal early in the day and let it cook for hours, and it will be waiting there when you get home. Cooking this way will allow you to buy less expensive cuts of meat. Cuts of meat such as chuck steaks, flank, and other hardier cuts of beef. So, in the end, you will have a delicious meal that will cost less.
Hopefully, the above tips will help you with your Paleo diet (Caveman) success.
